What customers are saying about our kids bike rentals
"Easy bike rental, fair prices, easy after hour drop off with parking around the back. Our son was having trouble with his seat: Lucas took a lot of time switching it out & padding it as well as answering all his questions. Great experience!"

Our kids bike fitting process
Finding the right kids bike is less about age and more about height and confidence.
- First we'll assess how tall your child is. That will give us a great idea of which bikes may be a good choice.
- We'll then ask about what kind of bike the young rider has at home, if any. We'll get a feel for whether they're comfortable on two wheels and ask if they know how to use hand brakes and gears or if they are more used to single speeds and coaster brakes.
- We'll bring out the bike that we think best fits their size and ability and we'll have them hop on the saddle while we hold it steady to check the seat height.
- If needed we may have them pedal around to see them in action to make sure they're comfortable and confident on their rental.
- If they're feeling good we're all set! If not, we'll find a better fit for them.
Tips for renting kids bikes
After decades of renting bikes to families, here are some considerations that will help you have the best experience possible:
- If everyone isn't comfortable, don't force it. Sometimes parents have their hearts set on a particular rental item (like a baby seat bike or a trail-a-bike), but if the child (or the parent) isn't actually comfortable and confident on the road it's best to adjust the plan and find rental items that everyone feels better about.
- Be realistic with your mileage goals. For example, 12" kids bikes are adorable and great for the neighborhood, but they are not a good idea if you want to cover real distances. If you want to ride further, consider our child attachment items.
- Fussy young children calm down once you get rolling. Young kids can get upset in the baby seats or Burley trailers at first, but instead of trying to fix everything, when you just start riding they almost always calm down. We've seen lots of unhappy babies and toddlers leave the shop only to come back smiling or sleeping!
